Want something smaller and better on gas. Wish to get >28mpg+. Possibly a small convertible/coupe/roadster for something fun and be able to fit in the garage easier, or a perhaps a small 2wd pickup truck(so no crew cabs please), or a small van(like a Ford Transit Connect). Prefer manuals, even though my truck is an automatic. I am only asking $9k for my truck, which is below book price), if you have nothing to trade or would just rather buy outright.
My 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 pickup truck has ~139k on the odometer, but miles will still accrue.
I never used her for work. Just personal use. And never plowed. Plus non-smoker and no pets.
My mechanic friend tells me this was the last generation of reliable GM trucks.
No AFM concerns/issues/problems here, because it does not have it.
This is NOT those next generation GM truck transmissions that only last about 100k.
She truly has been very reliable/dependable, so I have been good to her. Waxed 2-3 times per year, was last done yet again in June.
NO check engine light on.
Starts every time, runs smooth & strong, drives nice, and stops straight.
A/C and heat work well.
Great oil pressure and always use Dexos Full Synthetic "high mileage" and made in USA filters.
4x4 with a more dependable floor shifter.
3.73 gears, but I never towed with her.
4.3L, up to 21mpg highway in the summer, and still plenty peppy with the gearing.
Bedliner. So the bed floor is good, but the sides are rusting(common). Those flares were thrown on right before I bought it to cover it up.
ABS, traction control and stability control(StabiliTrak), plus hill start assist.
ALL the air bags! So very safety minded. It does have a B0015d code, but still passes inspection.
Aluminum alloy factory wheels(the originals were steel). These did trip the TPMS light, but this also passes inspection.
Goodyear tires.
Has been rustproofed underneath at least twice(one waxy type and one oil based) before I bought it, and I got it done again with Woolwax(lanolin base) before 2021-22 salt season. Then touched up any spots for the 2022-23 winter. And done again, but switched to NHOU for 2023-24. Then redone before the past (2024-25)winter.
