From the Sisters: "Built in 1995, St. Philomena’s Convent was originally intended to be a priory for the small community of Franciscan friars founded by Fr. Charles Poirier. It eventually came into the hands of the late Dr. Robert Hickson and his wife Maike, who generously donated it to our Sisters in 2009. We lived happily in this convent until July of 2024, when we had to make an emergency evacuation due to a serious mold infestation. Before being forced to leave, however, we were already facing the crisis of having outgrown the convent! The convent only has eight cells, and in July we received our ninth Sister! Between the presence of mold and the absence of room, we are now facing a double-crisis that calls for immediate action."
