The Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is recruiting adults who use marijuana to participate in a research study on how reward affects the brain.
Who can participate?
Adults ages 18 to 55 who use marijuana on a regular basis.
Time or other commitments required of participants:
Participation in the study will include four main visits to the Medical Center as well as additional shorter visits over the course of the study. Participants will need to complete some assessments and answer questions about their physical and mental health. Participants will not be able to use drugs or alcohol during the study.
Participants will receive:
Participants will receive either a pill containing THC (the active ingredient in marijuana), smoke part of a marijuana cigarette, or be given a placebo. Participants will also have their blood drawn and receive two MRI scans of their brain.
