Work shop assistant needed at Port City Mopeds, local moped/scooter sales, service, and rental shop.
Flexible position requiring min. 20hrs per week, up to 40hrs per week available. Can start early April and work thru August.
Job responsibilities include performing basic routine maintenance on mopeds/scooters, keeping the shop clean and organized, and helping out a little bit with just about everything that goes on at the shop (managing inventory, ordering parts, cleaning, lifting heavy things, some customer service, etc.)
Will be an opportunity to assist in managing/operating our scooter rental operation come June. Pay would be offered on a per-rental basis, which makes for good bonus $.
Experience using hand tools, a basic understanding of the function of the internal combustion engine, mechanical repair is a plus. We are prepared to educate and train you on the specifics of moped-related work - would prefer not to "start from scratch" - a basic mechanical aptitude will go a long way. A positive attitude and work ethic is more important than any amount of experience.
