Job Description
The Residential Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of homebuilding and renovation projects, from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and materials to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for homeowners and internal teams, proactively resolving issues, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring compliance with safety, building codes, and company expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
• Plan, manage, and oversee residential construction projects from pre-construction through final completion
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality work
• Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, providing regular updates and addressing concerns
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure project requirements are met
• Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
• Manage permits, inspections, and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Identify, document, and resolve project issues, changes, and risks
• Approve invoices, track change orders, and manage project documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain company standards, timelines, and customer satisfaction
• Perform other related duties and projects as needed by your supervisor
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, building codes, and inspection processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, and schedules
• Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and cost control
• Effective leadership and coordination skills for managing subcontractors and internal teams
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities when working with homeowners and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools, and basic accounting systems
• Working knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining compliant jobsites
• Familiarity with safety regulations and commitment to following OSHA and company safety standards

Physical Requirements
The Residential Construction Project Manager must be able to work effectively in both office and active job site environments. This role requires the ability to walk jobsites regularly, stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate uneven terrain. Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25–50 pounds may be required. The position also involves working in varying weather conditions, maintaining visual and situational awareness on jobsites, and consistently using required personal protective equipment to ensure safety.
