The 1st picture was taken Many Years ago, I no longer have the metal stand. It was Sold many, many years ago. I had the Lathe on a Very large Stainless-Steel Table. The Larger Table was so I could work on the Rotors, such as measuring the thickness of the Rotors, a lot of / Most of / the Rotors I worked on were Rotors with packable bearings, Old School rear wheel drive Performance Cars, as well as rear wheel drive Work Vans, PU Trucks, 1 ton Work Trucks. So, I could repack the Bearings and when necessary, I could hammer out the Races and install the new Races. The fancy lathe Stand is LONG gone.
The Large 36 x 48 Stainless Table was Far better for me, for anybody really.
A lathe like this new starts at 8500.00 and goes up from there. Will consider trades for a nice Trailer, or Firearms.
Ammco Brake Lathe -Rotor/Flywheel Lathe - Cuts up to 1 Ton Vehicle Rotors - This is the Same Model Lathe Sanels Auto in Concord used for 45 Plus Years ~ NOTICE it is NOT the same Lathe, it is the same Model, so you know it is DURABLE!
I believe it Will even cut Larger Rotors than a 1 ton with the Proper Adapters made by Ammco ~ Sanels cut Rotors for 45 years that I personally know of. Some People have said even longer?
If you are a Shop that does a lot of Transmission Work as well - You can Resurface Flywheels on this Lathe. most flywheels can take just a simple pass to remove the glazing, save a lot of money if you do transmissions!
Any Shop that works on Any Older / Antique Vehicles Should have this Machine, You can make a fine finish cut on Antique Rotors that are Difficult or Impossible to find. I call it Dressing a Rotor as opposed to Cutting. Cutting is needed when they are warped. Notice the Rotor I Dressed in the pictures
This was Top of the Line from Ammco some years ago ~ model 7000 ~ The Updated Identical Lathe is now Called the Model 7500. Parts are Available for these Lathes. This Particular Lathe has numerous adapters and Runs Perfectly.
The Cutter arm has been removed to lighten it and make it less awkward to move I also have a Bucket of the adapters ~
UPDATE : I have added Pictures of all the Various Adapters ~ There is a large Selection of Cones right down to Tiny - Also Pictures of this lathe in Action
There should be all you need for many Vehicles. If you Restore vehicles Sometimes you cannot even get the Rotors you need. Just True / or Dress them up ~ I went to a Local Auto Dealer Yesterday, they were in the middle of doing front brakes on one of their Used Vehicles and they gave me the 2 Rotors they took off a vehicle. I Trued and Dressed 1 of them up in 15 minutes. Documented with Pictures
If you Buy and Sell Vehicles this is for You as long as you have a person that can Run it. You can save a lot of Money on Rotors ~ Often they are changed because of a little rust from sitting (Crap China Rotors) OR they have a Pulsation which could be cut out Quickly with a couple mild passes. PICTURE 12 ~ Rotors as I just described, slight Rust and a Pedal Pulsation when applying the brakes, cut right out in less than 15 minutes. Look at the last picture, the Rotor has had VERY little material cut from it. Ready to put back on the vehicle.
Lathe - Ammco Brake Rotor and Flywheel Only Lathe
You will have this till until you retire, or you pass away whichever comes 1st. This is as Good as they get for Rotor Resurfacing. Rotors used to be very expensive until CHINA took over. Now most garages simply put new ones on, but many of the new ones Suck. We have Seen many that pulsate right out of the box. In the ad you see my husband took rotors from a used auto dealers trash pile and made them look new and they were still usable, inspectable. Most garages even if they had this machine would have trouble having a mechanic capable of using it. If you know how to use this, it can save a lot of money. It would be especially valuable to a Used Auto Dealer.
