Contract Position with Rapidly-Growing Medical Device Company
We are a four-year-old medical technology company founded by a team of accomplished entrepreneurs that have built multiple successful, multi-million dollar companies, including two that we took public on the NASDAQ.
This company is growing rapidly and has been well-funded, having raised $16.8 million dollars to date.
We have created and patented a revolutionary orthopedic rehabilitation device. Response to the new device has been very strong, with endorsement by 126 highly respected surgeons nationwide. First versions of the device have been sold into more than 75 hospitals and clinics including many of the top 20 healthcare organizations in the country.
We are now nearing completion of our second product, a portable version of our first flagship device. A growing list of surgeons are pre-ordering the product in anticipation of launch this spring. Now we are in need of an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer.
Our new medical device integrates software interface (Android), DC and Stepper motors, power supply and control boards, bluetooth communication, and other electrical components.
The candidate will understand the desired flow of the device and have the skill to achieve the appropriate electrical and electronic functionality from start to finish. Candidate will consult on completing the current prototype, as well as assist with system design, development and deployment of future versions of the device as well as new devices. Future devices may use a SBC and experience with SBC design and development is desired. This is a start-up so expect the role to be hands-on. The ideal candidate will be responsible for electronics and electrical from conception to launch (lead design, development, deployment, testing and advise on production).
Degree in EE with 10+ (8+ maybe?) years work experience.
Deep experience with circuit board design (bluetooth and wifi communication, stepper drivers, DC motor controllers)
Expertise with firmware development
Experience in regulated environments (FDA).
