Current Designs Squamish Sea Kayak. This sporty kayak is a perfect boat for average size adults (I am 5’10, 175 pounds). It is quick to paddle at 15.5 feet long, 23 inches wide and for a polyethylene kayak it is lightweight, less than 55 lbs. I have paddled it on the open ocean but lately on lakes around the Upper Valley.

It comes equipped with a drop-down skeg (controlled by a slider on the side of the cockpit), which is very helpful in a crosswind and offers all the benefits of rudder but cleaner, lighter and less prone to issues. It has two bulkheads and two hatches, a smaller round front hatch and a larger rear. The boat comes with a hyperlon spray deck, a nearly-new Aqua Bound paddle and a PFD.
