This person is responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Working with customers and managing their orders and accounts. Communicating and working with cross-functional teams such as: sales, logistics, planning/forecasting and finance, to ensure correct account set up, product availability, and shipping availability. This position may also directly perform logistics activities related to inventory management, out-bound transportation, and customer service.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs all duties relating to the processing of customer orders through phone, fax, e-mail and EDI
• Handles inbound calls in a timely and professional manner
• Proactively contacts customers regarding order changes and/or late shipments
• Researches and resolves escalated customer issues utilizing appropriate resources
• Maintain inventory records at Pottstown Plant, Chelsea warehouse and other consignment locations
• Establishing a communication schedule to update customers on order status
• Prepares specific management reports as required.
• Associates Degree or 3+ years of customer service and/or transportation service
• Highly proficient level of computer skills with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
• Attention to detail – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
• Demonstrates ability to make decisions, resolve problems and possess creative thinking skills
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Great Plains a plus.
