The Vogel Balance is a boutique, hand-crafted instrument built with a laser focus on ergonomics, tone, and aesthetic balance. Vogel messages me a few weeks ago and informed me that he made this specific guitar for American Jazz guitarist Joe Beck. These guitars are known for their forward-thinking design and uncompromising craftsmanship, Vogel guitars are rarely seen on the used market β especially in mint condition like this one. The electronics need rewiring on this one (I had reached into the chamber and dislodged a few connections and just made things worse as I tried to fix it. I got new pots and rewired them, though the complexity is above my pay grade.
It is the most unique feeling guitar that I have played... in a very good way. I play mostly covers with a wide range of styles, and would have to modify it heavily to meet my needs. It may be the right guitar for you!! It was made for Jazz.
πΈ Unique Features & Design:
Multi-chambered body β Strategically carved chambers reduce weight while enhancing resonance and sustain. The result is an instrument thatβs light, perfectly balanced, and alive in your hands.
Balance-first ergonomics β Designed to eliminate neck dive and strain, the guitar sits naturally against the body whether standing or seated.
Sleek asymmetrical body contours β Comfortable curves that flow with your playing position, giving both modern style and practical functionality.
Premium tonewoods & resonance β Lightweight yet incredibly resonant woods chosen for sustain and clarity.
Custom electronics β Boutique pickups that offer a wide tonal spectrum, from shimmering cleans to full-bodied overdrive.
Artisan craftsmanship β Every curve, fret, and finish detail is meticulously done by hand. This isnβt factory work β itβs luthier-level artistry.
β¨ Rarity:
Vogel builds are produced in very small numbers β each one is essentially a custom shop instrument. The Balance model is particularly sought-after for its futuristic yet functional design. Finding one on the secondary market is rare, and in mint condition rarer still.
