Handbuilt in Northern Ireland by the highly skilled Avalon (ex Lowden) luthiers. This is not a standard acoustic you will find in most US music shops. I purchased this guitar used from an accomplished guitarist from the UK and paid to ship (with duties) to the US.
It's an early 2000s model when they introduced the new headstock logo. The model name has now changed to the 2-20 series, so this would be an L2-20ce, which to order new with cutaway and pickup would be just under $5,700. The Lowden equivalent is the O-32c.
It has a Sitka spruce top with nice bearclaw figuring that changes depending on the angle. The back and sides are high grade indian rosewood with nice straight grain. Binding is made of various woods. Two piece mahogany neck, double action truss rod, bound, with ebony fretboard. Bone nut and saddles with ebony pin and undersaddle Fishman Matrix VT pickup system (installed at factory, as was the strap pin). Original Hiscox pro II case included, with original paperwork in the case.
It's in excellent overall condition, no cracks or structural issues. It has a small ding on the top of the pickguard that has marked the wood underneath. It's not particularly deep but the glue/pickguard dent seems to amplify it at certain angles, I've provided a photo.
This is a beautiful looking guitar that plays wonderfully. Selling as I have not been playing much these days and this guitar is far too nice to be sitting around. Do yourself a favor and grab this fine Irish instrument while its available!
Would be open to a trade in which I get back a less expensive mid grade acoustic guitar and a minimum of $1,500 in cash in return.
