Eastman MDO305 A-style Octave Mandolin, serial number 15953092. Larger and tuned an octave lower than a regular mandolin. Original owner, purchased in May 2020. Excellent condition. No visible scratches or dings; gently used. The fretboard shows a little wear, to be expected.
This octave mandolin not only looks like a mandolin, it sounds like a mandolin. (Others with guitar type bodies sound really nice, too, but more guitar-like.)
Maple sides and back, spruce top, satin finish. Great tone and balance, lots of sustain and sympathetic vibration across the strings. Crisp, not muddy. Precise intonation.
Comes with the original well-padded soft-sided bag, also in excellent condition. I’ll include a good strap, a set of new strings, and capo as well.
Very easy to find more info about this instrument on the internet, including specifications, so I don’t list them here.
Transaction in person only, and that way the buyer will be 100% confident in what they’re getting. I am in Dover, NH.
Payment: I’ll accept cash or via Venmo, and would consider personal check if you let me take a picture of you and note your address and license # from your driver’s license.
You may wonder why I am selling. I have Parkinson’s, and it has progressed to the point where I can’t play this instrument at all.
Price for the instrument is firm.
I will handle inquiries in the order received. If you don’t hear back from me, it will only be because I received a lot of inquiries and you’re not next yet. If the instrument is sold I will certainly remove this ad.
