This 19th century printed lithograph will draw you right in - the framed print depicts a Roman palazzo ceiling fresco scene painted in 1614. The soft hues are glorious and easy on the eye to blend with most decor palettes.
Aurora, (the goddess of the dawn) leads the sun god “Apollo” on his chariot being escorted by ladies representing the hours of the day. The little putto “Phosphorus” floats above with his torch and the Zephyr winds blow. Mythology, allegory, floating angels, flame, and a hot guy. Sigh.
Yes, the gesso frame is chipped in places. Most vintage collectors don't mind that one bit. Ready for wall hanging with the installed wire.
