A beautiful Caucasian Kazak rug, a Kars. Used in good condition, clean. Hand-knotted, wool on cotton foundation. Clean healthy pile. Interesting Kazak design with somewhat muted colors from vegetable and mineral dyes. The tussle are all intact. Kazak rugs were originally woven by Armenian weavers (generally the women of the communities) which migrated to the area in the 11th century from Turkey along with Azeri (Azerbaijani) Turk groups. Size 5`2 x 2`11 ft.
