Submitted for your consideration is a CDV from the Civil War era, depicting a Soldier who has returned home to find a baby in a cradle. This war veteran didn't need Maury Povich to know that he is "NOT the father".
Solider is wearing his uniform, with cloak, holding a musket in one hand, and pointing at baby in cradle with the other hand. Caption is, "Who's Been Here Since I'se Been Gone(?)".
This is not a modern reprint, replica, etc. It is the Real Deal, from the 1860s, and an extremely scarce example of Civil War humor in the Carte-de-visite (CDV) format.
CONDITION: G+. Crease at Lower Right Front Corner. Back has two hairline creases, and a round discolored circle of about 5/8" diameter. A nick, notch or bump, here/there. Not a museum piece, but nothing terminally wrong.
DIMENSIONS: Just under 4" x 2 1/4". Very unique Civil War humor on a CDV. No photographer's mark on reverse, as shown.
Price is FIRM @ $80.00/cash. NO HAGGLERS! T'aint no yahhd sale, folks. Buyer to pick up in CONCORD NH.
