Alden 16’ rowing shell named, gandydancer. Drop-in Oarmaster with stainless steel frame, aluminum outriggers, brass oarlocks, wooden sliding seat and foot stretchers, and the locking springs used to secure the Oarmaster to the hull. Original, 10’ “douglas feath-or” spruce and mahogany oars.
This craft is a well-maintained fiberglass shell from 1983 (vintage?, antique?, historic?, enjoyable!) and is ready to launch. It includes a custom “beach buggy” carrier, warning flag, and an Adult XXL Class III PFD. It is a stable, flat-bottomed Alden Ocean Shell (single) suitable for rowing in open water where swells are commonly encountered. Over the years, we have used it on Long Island Sound, the Connecticut River, Raquette Lake in New York, and French Pond in New Hampshire. The only repair has been to the starboard gunwale as shown in the photo.
The name, gandydancer came from the long-handled railroad shovels used by track crews known as Gandy Dancers.
The price is negotiable and we can meet in a mutually agreed upon location.
I will not respond to robo-call questions such as, "Is it still available?"
