Selling a 14’ wooden Adirondack Guideboat. I don’t know the exact history of the boat, but it appears to be a shortened reproduction of the Virginia, likely from the methods described in The Adirondack Guide-boat by Durant. The ribs are laminated ash (or possibly white oak) with cedar planking in the traditional Guideboat style. The previous owner told me they thought it was built in NH. The boat is serviceable as-is but should really be refinished. Could be a good winter project (no woodwork required, just removing varnish and refinishing). The center seat is broken but it could me repaired or replaced with a Wide canoe seat. Comes with a set of 6’ oars (pictured) but they are not proper Guideboat oars. You would really want a set of 7-8’ oars for the boat. I can provide some info on building a set if needed (they can also be purchased). It’s a great boat and I’m only selling because I have too many project boats, including another Guideboat, so I could use the space.
