TICKLISH FEET ?!?! You'll want to try this : ) (NH/MA)

Have you ever wondered why your feet are so ticklish ? I've been doing research on laughter and ticklishness for years. I've already found some statistically significant facts about ticklishness that may surprise you. I'm still looking for volunteers to have their feet tickled. You can be of any ticklish level for the research. I will ask you some questions...as I am trying to figure out more things that the very ticklish people have in common (and that the barely ticklish people have in common). So your barefeet and honest answers are appreciated. What do you get ? The gift of laughter and a good foot rub. Extremely ticklish feet may earn an ongoing paid position !! Tickle sessions will take place whenever and wherever possible including public locations. After all it's just tickling lol. I do make house calls too !! Sound interesting and fun ?! What are you waiting for ?!?!
There will be cultural activities and exchange with the Tibetan Youth with the support of the Tibetan Welfare Office.
We are working with the Blue Ocean Society to keep our waterfront clean! Through their Adopt-a-Beach program, we have adopted our own urban island, Peirce Island, where we will do a monthly cleanup.

Our first one will be THIS TUESDAY, July 8th, at 6:00pm!

This is our first official cleanup, so we'd love to have a good turnout. Someone from Blue Ocean will be on hand to show us the ropes. Bring a trash bag and a pair of gloves and meet us in the parking lot up beyond the swimming pool at Peirce Island. We will clean for about 1.5-2 hours. We will keep records of what kinds of trash we find for the Blue Ocean Society's research, and we will weigh our trash afterward to see how we did!

You can sign up by responding to this post or stopping by Starbucks Coffee in Market Square, Portsmouth. Talk to Faith, Jill or Heidi for more info. Thanks! Hope to see you there!
Description:

"It will be one of those decisions you look back on and know that it changed your life," explains Sam, a current volunteer advocate at Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS).

No experience is required to volunteer for SASS, just compassion and a desire to support survivors of sexual violence. SASS provides a comprehensive 36 hour training that will provide you with all of the training you will need to make a difference in the lives of others.

SASS understands that many of us have busy lives and volunteer advocates can be on call from home during nights and weekends. You can create a flexible schedule that will work best for you.
The next training for new volunteer advocates will begin in September 2008. This training will prepare you to make a difference in both your life and the lives of people who reach out to SASS.

Disabled mother of three boys is in need of a lawyer to address her situation with DHS....Over the 3 years she has tryed to work with Dhs in getting support from a local working father who now is on his 4th contempt of court for non payments with nothing done to make him pay. Each court ordered him to pay. She was to recieve payments of $100. a week plus a $500. full payment by jan 5TH OF 08 TO DATE SHE has recieved maybe $400.00 Her relying on this money to cover her rent, is now being evicted. For the second time now due to the fathers not paying support. Again being on disabilty and on a VERY LIMITED INCOME. She could be homeless with three boys. Now on top of this the father talked her 15 year old to go to court to live with him because he was old enough to decide.
Being 15 he got a gardian aT lITEM. sHE STOPPED BY ONE AFTER NOON IN NoV STATEING she only had a few minutes to spend there. She was not being paid for the services and other clients were paying. My daughter opposed transfewring her son due to his fathers bad conduct and issues over the last 6 months as well as for the condition her son was in when she got him back 3+ yrs back...She was told there would be a hearing and she would be able to disscuss this. Just before the hearing the guardian said the hearing was cancelled due to her having issues with her daughter and she would let Michelle know when it would be.Michelle knew the hearing was coming up and called the court they told her she would be informed. She never was but be assured she got the final paperwork when she didn't show. Well now never being informed of the hearing by the court guardian at litem or DHS who did show up no one informed her of tHE date and time so she missed it. Now this dead beat Dad with very poor credabilty has custody of her son and now she is getting evicted. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT WILL HELP HER.
sHE IS 3/4 DONE WITH A COLLEDGE PROGRAM TO GET A GOOD JOB AS A MEDICAL Assistant, SHE IS STRUGGLING AND THIS IS NOT FAIR TO HER.

Hosting a young student can be a wonderful opportunity. It is truly a remarkable, memorable, and educational experience for your entire family!

Host families offer our students extraordinary opportunities to learn more about American culture. By actually living in the United States with American host families and attending American high schools, foreign students acquire a more profound significance of the unique threads woven together to create our culture. In exchange, these young ambassadors interact first-hand with their host families, communities, schools, and peers to share the culture of their home country and change they way people view their world.

Forte International Exchange Association (FIEA) is a State-Department recognized student exchange program based in Washington, DC. Since 2000, we have brought nearly 2,000 international students to the US to study in public schools and experience American life and culture. FIEA is currently looking for loving and caring families to host students starting in the Fall of 2008. Host families receive $200 per month to host.

Our students come for both semester and full year stays. They are well-mannered high school aged boys and girls from all over the world. All students meet standards set forth by our rigorous screening process and pass an English language proficiency tests to assure they will be able to fully participate in high school activities.

Who Can Host?

As long as you have some extra love to go around, that's all you need! We accept families with or without children, married or single father and/or mother figures. Somewhere in the world there is a student waiting to meet a family just like yours!

Child and Family Services of NH is seeking couples or individuals to be resource families to children in need of support (who have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect). A foster family is comprised of caring, nurturing and dedicated individuals with the intent to change the life of a child or children who are in need of a permanent or temporary safe and loving home. You will need to provide a healthy living environment, compassionate care to children, structure, discipline and educational support. Treatment-level foster care helps children heal from their histories and grow to become self-sufficient adults. Foster families help to strengthen community ties and provide assistance with daily living and social skills. Your home would be provided with twenty four hour support from our staff. Our agency provides a financial stipend, with ongoing training and support. Staff are on-call around the clock – 24/7 – to help you help children in New Hampshire.

A Barnstead family is looking for help from area Construction Laborers and an Electrician!

This family you will be assisting lost their first home and was forced to relocate. And as this family has acquired another residence, their home is neither accessible and is in need of some repairs.

About the family and their circumstances: They have four children, one of whom is disabled and is wheelchair bound.

The areas needing repairs are as follows:

Bathroom, is too small and the wall could be pushed back, as is the doorway for their child's wheelchair. It is neither accommodating, and has pre-existing water damage not seen prior to moving into the home, (an issue their home-owners insurance would not aide in).

Disabled Child's bedroom, (he suffers from severe allergies) therefor the carpet needs to be pulled up and replaced, floor fixed, and has potential moisture damage.

Outside access, family is in desperate need of a handicap ramp added to their porch.

If you are a certified laborer with years of experience and want to get involved for a good cause, please contact me with your credentials!

Please bare in mind that as there are some area agencies around who could potentially help this family out, funding is limited and therefor there will still be remaining work needed to be completed that is not able to be funded.
Thank you for your attention!

Precious Cargo is a new organization, based in the greater Manchester area. Our goal is to provide children in foster care with duffelbags, so that they do not need to use plastic garbage bags for transporting their belongings to and from foster homes.

We need involvement and support to get off the ground. No matter how small the contribution, your help is needed and appreciated.

• Are you doing spring cleaning? Do you have any gently-used, large gym bags that you don't use anymore? We can use them!

• Would you like to volunteer at a duffelbag drive, or perhaps organize one at your school, business, or gym? We need you!

• Do you have dry storage space that we might use as we collect bags? We need you!

• Do you belong to a social service organization? Is your group looking for a community service project? We need you - Girl/Boy Scouts, Key Club, etc.

The goal of our first drive is to collect 150 duffelbags and other soft-sided, large carry bags, to be donated to Easter Seals of Manchester. The drive will conclude in September 2008. At that time, we will decide whether to continue as an ongoing, permanent social service project.

Help out a statewide youth leadership program! (Statewide)

Hello everyone....

I sit on a volunteer board for a statewide youth organization called HOBY, which stands for Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership. This organization is quickly becoming a passion of mine as I truly enjoy contributing back to the community. And I believe in what HOBY is trying to teach our youth about becoming outstanding leaders.

Every year, HOBY offers a three day Leadership Development Seminar to high school sophomores to over 100 high schools throughout the state. Our programs focus on leadership, motivation and volunteerism by providing interactive discussions with community, business and political leaders, as well as hands-on community service projects.

Our programs are designed to meet the urgent need for leadership development that exists in this country. By providing these young sophomores with interactive opportunities for critical thinking, promoting democracy, volunteerism/community service, the free enterprise system, and encouraging social responsibility among today’s youth, HOBY effectively ensures America ’s future.

First...if you shop at Shaw's, which there is basically one in every town...send me your receipts! Just collect them and the next time you see me, give them to me. You could mail them to me. Just put them aside for me. For every receipt NH HOBY collects and submits to Shaw's; Shaw's will donate 1% to NH HOBY. It doesn’t sound like much, but it will add up quickly when combined with others. Just like pennies in your change jar, it can add up!

Second...if you have any old cell phones lying around send them to me. I have a company that will donate the value of the cell phone to NH HOBY.

Two very simple things that anyone can do...everyone has to eat...and has to shop in order to eat. And giving NH HOBY your older cell phones will help clean out the clutter in your homes!

Thanks for looking everyone! Every little bit helps! Please contact me for my mailing information.

Caring and Compassionate Volunteers Needed!

If you are interested contact the office for a screening as soon as possible. Olivia
Community Outreach Coordinator
I bought WeBabyOurVets.org (WBOV) website, it is hosted, and I have a volunteer website builder, but I need a designer to give it a face. The function of WBOV is to provide babysitter compensation and candlelight dinners at local restaurants for vet couples. Each dinner will host at least 2 couples, as the purpose is to support them in strengthening their in- and out-of-home social bonds.
It is important you can work in Photoshop or Illustrator, which of course means you can work FROM anywhere.
