To the poster who made claim to people that complain when it is not for free-I respectfully disagree. It has been my experience with Comcast that the customer service is way below where it should be at. The errors I experienced and hours of tech calls along with a 99.00 bundle becoming 156-185 (depending on the month) prompted me to cancel phone and cable. I did remain with the internet because I can't get Fios. If I were to go that route, it would be Fairpoint and I have heard enough horror stories. Comcast in general offers a good product but for way too much and with little to zip customer service. I pay 76.00 for the net and 41.00 for the Dish Network w/ 200 channels. I am much better off in consideration of maintaining a reasonable budget. I am not looking for freebees; simply a degree of reasonability.

I don't understand the complaints about Comcast. I love that company. Expensive? Maybe. I'm paying $215/month for fast internet service, phone, and cable (2 hd boxes and 2 digital boxes). I don't mind writing that check every month. I get a lot for my money.
The only outage I have ever had was during the Halloween storm and it was back on before the power was. Customer service and technicians have always been helpful.

I called Comcast to ask if they could do anything to lower my insane bill. They would only chop my bill $15 (the increase that made me consider dumping them) and that would mean losing some channels AND a lower speed internet connection. I did the same thing with Comcast and went to Dish. WATCH YOUR BILL. When any promotions end, your bill will increase. I have spent hours on the phone each month correcting the increases. WATCH YOUR EMAIL. They add promotions and only notify you of them when it is time to end the promotion. I gave them an email I rarely use and had two features added without my request only to find out it was too late to end them as I was notified by email to do so. I fixed that but not with ease. The service is fine but loaded with infomercial channels and crap. I kept my internet with Comcast @ $76.00 per month and looking for a fix on that if anyone knows of one. The Verizon Air Card is not an option because my location is in one of their "outage" areas. Weird, my phone works fine. If you are considering Dish, it is almost as bad as Comcast with respect to customer service.

After my last digital camera died (as they all seem to after a couple years) I ended up buying this:

It has more settings and capabilities than I'll ever need. The most important aspect of the camera for me is that it has a very good totally automatic (simpleton) mode which suits me perfectly.
The optical zoom is great as are the ergonomics. It also uses standard AA batteries so you can use readily available rechargeables. With some searching you should be able to get this for
around $150 which is what I paid for it when Staples had it on sale. If you want to get a higher echelon camera (read as spend more money) www.dpreview.com is a good research resource.

Basically, this is giving back to the community and those who do need a little bit of help. Recently, our garage burned to the ground. We are planning on building a new one within the next month and I am looking at putting in an auto lift. With that being said, I am thinking about doing oil changes and small repairs for people who can't afford to pay a mechanic their going rate, but I am not looking at doing this for free (I do have a family). I am planning on just charging what someone can afford. If it's five bucks, it's five bucks. If they can't afford anything but the oil and filter (as an example), there's rebates that will give the customer a pre-paid gift card... and I would just ask the people to spend that money at the auto parts store to pick up oil, drop it off at my house, just in case there are those who can't afford the oil. I've been working on cars for over 25 years, and have done everything from changing ball joints to changing oil. IF I am not comfortable in doing a job, I will refer you elsewhere (i.e. if I think your car needs more than you can afford for parts, i.e. a twelve hundred dollar transmission). Also, if you show up in a brand new BMW, trying to tell me that you can't afford to do regular maintenance... I will turn you away.

I know there will be people bashing this, which is fine and dandy. Just take a second, after you bash this, to reflect on yourself and whether or not you are really that angry and hateful.

Cable is a manufactured "necessity", who really needs it? When it first showed up, cable TV cost $5 a month. Yes thats right. Now they have slowly increased and increased their fees, today a typical cable account at a home, including high speed internet, is $125 a month. For what? Repeated outages, repeated freezing up, restart your modem, etc., more and more. I got sick and tired of them years ago.
Today I spend $8 a month on TV. Works for me. I stream off the web, watching movies mostly. A couple a week maybe. Not interested in prime time TV, not interested in commercials. There are alternatives to those who want something different.

Last week I got fed up with Cable TV. I did have a lower tier. I've been a loyal client for over 30 years. Well one of the few programs I watch mainly on Sunday mornings was Spike. Last week I turned it on and found out it was turned off. I called cable to ask where it went and they told me it moved to an HD channel. When I asked cable they told me it was considerable more money to include HD and it was unavailable on SB. Well I got fed up finally and converted to Dish Network. For the same money I am getting many more channels including Spike in HD and SB. I also get many more channels that if I had them on Cable I'd be paying way over double what I'm paying now for Dish. On top of that when I called cable to cancel they commented on my loyalty, I said that it's nice the way they reward loyalty is to screw the person. They were tripping over their feet to get me to stay. Last year I called them and asked them to reduce the rate. They said it was impossible but now they were willing to give me a tier that cost one fifty a month for eighty four dollars a month. They didn't mention any amount of time. I understand on occasion Dish goes out but then again around here with all the trees we loose cable as well. Point I'm trying to make is call them if your on cable and force them into giving you a better rate. I'm happy with moving to Dish Network.

I have a 1998 chevy k3500 that I am looking to get painted. The paint thats on it isn't that bad butit has some blemishes (chips and some scratches here and there). I want to keep the color red and I have the replacement OEM decals (4X4 for the fleetsides and CHEVEROLET for the tailgate). Does anyone have any recomendations as to where to go for the best job that won't break the bank? I read reviews for Maaco and I wasn't impressed so I'll pass on thier service. Thanks!

I am trying to get information on an organization call "Common Ground". What is it all about? I have heard some horror stories and wondering what to believe.

They take over disabled adults and children and the family has no say. I understand they lie about what they are doing. I also understand they take these disabled adults out of their hometowns and then lie about what they are doing. I am wondering why they have so much power and how they are funded. Since I have heard of how evil they are I am going to see if I can help cut back their power and get their funding taken away. I am wondering if sexual abuse is also taking place in some of these homes where they are being placed.

Perhaps it was a good organization before these evil lying people got to be in charge.
