Hi, just want to see if anyone is interested in having a place to live and eat what we grow for "free" while working on a Intentional Community farm starting this coming "SPRING OR SUMMER" Please don't contact me for lodging this winter.

What is a Intentional Community you ask?

An intentional community is a planned residential community designed from the start to have a high degree of social cohesion and teamwork. The members of an intentional community typically hold a common social, political, religious, or spiritual vision and often follow an alternative lifestyle. They typically share responsibilities and resources.

Sunburst is a community with plans to be self-supporting, providing jobs through intense aquaculture, hydroponics, beekeeping, internet business, recumbent-bicycle making, and the production of electric bicycles and trikes. Sunburst is a home for those who share high ideals and who know that tomorrow is built today. We are presently in the formative stages: We now own 50 acres of farmland and are in the process of purchasing another 45 acres on which to build our buildings and residential housing. We are building the relationships and the organizational foundations of a community. We are planning on building a cluster of energy-efficient mini-homes/ moveable mini-homes on trailers and developing a conference and education center which will demonstrate conservation of energy resources and sustainable agriculture.

If you do not know anything about growing but have the desire to learn you are welcome. If you are a teacher and would like to teach we will train you on all aspect of farming. We will be opening a educational farming school in addition to our non traditional farm.

If you have experience in hydroponics, aquaponics or aquaculture please let us know. We will be offering free housing in exchange for volunteer work on the farm.

Or if "farming is not your thing, then we welcome you to work at one of our two restaurant (a coffee shop and a Ice Cream / Bakery shop in Rochester)

We will be having meetings once a month to discuss starting up a community, will be discussing and watching several video's on community's. Our next meeting is Thursday January 12th, in Durham, NH.

The main location for our community village will be in Barnstead on 45 acres of land and our farming operation which is located 4 miles down the road, where we have 50 acres to play with. In our village community we will have a variety of "tiny homes" on trailers, domes, tree houses, and underground houses and with a central club house.

The community will be opening this spring/summer.

Tonight's topic is: What are intentional communities? A talk on successful new ways of co-existing. Creating a business plan, members roles. Also living at the Community in exchange for working on the farm .

We will be discussing the location of the greenhouses, barn, and other buildings, view our maps of the property's. Discussion to buy more land.

We also discuss the benefits of implementing aquaculture .

Will watch several video's on aquaculture and aquaponics.

We are looking for people with skills to help out in the community.

If you are interested please get in touch with me.

Or come to the meeting at January 12th in Durham, please contact me to make reservations.

Thank you.

Will be having a potluck dinner so bring something to share.

See you there.

Peter
